Charles James: Beyond Fashion


Honestly when the Metropolitan Museum of Art decided to honor Charles James for this years Costume Institute Gala, that was the first time I heard about him. So a little research later I have familiarized myself with one of fashions legends. Charles James was born in England but spent most of his career in Paris and in New York in the 1940’s and 50’s. The reason we don’t talk about him that much is that he is more into the scientific and mathematical approaches to dress making. Continue reading

Philly Weekend – Day One


Philadelphia is just a two-hour bus ride from New York but we never included it in our list of destinations every time we plan a vacation. For Easter weekend, me and my friends were in the mood for an out of town trip. We have visited Boston and Washington DC but the four hour ride seems exhausting. I guess we are getting old but no one wants to admit. So it was the perfect time for the city of brotherly love. Continue reading
